    3. Hi Folks, This one is FAR TOO IMPORTANT to let it languish in the list I've just sent you. Geelong District: Geelong Advertiser - GOLD SHIPMENTS, 1851-1854 12 December 1851 - a list of names was published in the Geelong Advertiser - people petitioning for a public meeting with regard to the fixing of a license fee for gold digging 1851-1854 Geelong Advertiser gold lists appeared irregularly. The people listed sent gold by escort from the goldfields (Ballarat, Creswick, Mt Alexander etc.) to Geelong. Information contained in the newspaper includes the name of the consignee and the amount of gold or money being despatched. There are 6,624 entries in this index! WARNING: Spelling of surnames was quite creative so be creative with your search - or probably better, browsing. Have fun ............... Susie Z
