    3. Good morning Listers, I am hoping SKS might be able to push me in the right direction. I am helping a cousin to research her side of the family and to date I have been able to find the following data: Hector Norman WATSON married Kate SADLER 1916 Hector died 1968 in Darlington, Victoria, aged 75 yrs (although Ancestory.com has it Darlington and the Digger Disc has it listed as Camperdown). I have no dates for Kate for anything. Hector's parents I've found to be Walter James Watson and Maris Caroline CLARKE I have found Hector listed in the Elector Rolls in 1919, 1924, 1931 and 1936. 1919 he was in Gnotuk and a Dairyman. In 1924, 31 and 36 he was in Darlington, a Mail Contractor. Kate was listed with him each time as Home Duties. I also found in the last 2 a mention of Maria Caroline WATSON also as Home Duties. This does not tell me if Caroline was living with Hector & Kate, or on her own. I am guessing because I could find no mention of Walter Watson he may have already died. Also we are trying to find a Laura Dandy. All I have found for her is a death in 1977 aged 88 yrs in Geelong. Parents listed in Digger Disc as being Millard Abel B DANDY & Frances SKELTON. My guess to date is that she may have been buried in Darlington as I found no mention of her in the Geelong Cemeteries. It appear she did not marry but had a daughter Phyliss in 1923. This is the end of what I have been able to research and am hoping SKS might be of assistance to us with any more information or where we can look next. Thank you all in advance, Have a good weekend, Melissa

    3. Hi Melissa, Hector and Kate's marriage certificate will have a lot of detail, including her parents, mother's maiden name, birthplace etc. You can access it online at https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search?action=getHistIdxSearchCriteria but it costs $17.50 to download a copy of a certificate. I''ve found the cost to be well worth it in the past though! 3. Hi Found her marriage in 1915 to William Ernest Dandy # 199. No births to the couple up to 1920. SO Phyllis was a legitimate child. William Ernest DANDYdied in Colac in 1955 #18358. parents were Durham Dandy and Eliza McCoombe. This family shows up prominately in the DANDY entries in the Victorian Indexes. there are at least 3 more siblings in the deaths 1921-1985. I would use the online resource outlined in an earlier reply and purchase the death certificates at the very least. As to her burial it may be in Colac with her husband. Her MIL, Eliza Dandy nee McCoombe, died in Geelong 1926. regards Robyn ----- Original Message ----- From: "BJ MJ Hallyburton" <hallyburton1@bigpond.com> To: <aus-vic-geelong-district@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 19, 2009 8:11 AM Subject: [GEELONG] Watson family research > Good morning Listers, > > > > I am hoping SKS might be able to push me in the right direction. 3. Hi List, re Laura Dandy (daughter of Abel Blades MILLARD and Frances SKELTON) in Melissa's query - there is a family plot at the Bambra/Boonah cemetery (near Deans Marsh, Vic.), with Dandy, Swayn and McCoombe headstones all together in a fenced plot. I have photos, if you wish to receive offline. Don't know if this is of any help to your query or not. The Millard family lived in the Deans Marsh area and descendants still live there today. Three of Laura Dandy's siblings are buried at Whoorel (near Birregurra) cemtery - sister, Annie Doris Millard d. 1974, Harry Abel Millard d. 1965 and Matthew Russell Millard d. 1974. Details are - 4 headstones together in fenced plot at Bambra/Boonah cemetery, from left to right, 1. DANDY (only surname on concrete, flat grave), 2. Samuel McCoombe d. 10.4.1879, 6 years, 3. James Alfred Swayn d. 9.5.1950 and Sarah Swayn (husb. of James Alfred), d. 15.8.1942, 85 yrs. and son, James Swayn d. 1906, 21 yrs., 4. Thomas McCoombe d. 17.6.1907 and his wife Elizabeth McCoombe d. 21.6.1908, 74 yrs. (Both parents of Samuel McCoombe - No. 2). Sarah Ann Swayn was a daughter of Thomas McCoombe and Bessie Woods. Sarah d. Birregurra, 1942, 86 yrs. R/N. 26989. Laura MILLARD m. William Ernest DANDY. m. 1915. R/N. 199. Hope some of this info may help.
