    3. I have several PATERSON family that went to the Geelong area in the 1850s from Edinburgh. They were Jane/Jean PATERSON (1820-1910) who emigrated with her husband Peter FINNIE (1819-1894), not sure when. Both are buried in Geelong Eastern Cemetery. They had 2 children, Margaret Jane and John Lawson The other Paterson family was Jane's brother John PATERSON (1825-1897) who married Isabella VENTERS (1840-1897) in Geelong in 1869. Both are buried in Geelong Eastern Cemetery. John and Isabella had 6 children, Euphemia Young, Margaret Lawson,John Lawson, Robert Venters, Annie Venters and George James. Yet another PATERSON family member was another brother of Jane & John who was Hugh (1829-1879) supposedly a tinsmith in the Geelong area. Don't think he married. I would like know if there is any way I can find these people in local Geelong directories and also any information I can find to add "flesh to bones " of these families and any available shipping records I can access to find when the PATERSONS emigrated to Australia.
