But did you try the Geelong & District Directories Database? http://zades.com.au/gandd/index.php/databases/gddir Make sure you search FINN and not just FINNIE as there is an entry for Peter FINNEY which may be yours. Entries for VENTERS and plenty for PATERSON / PATTERSON. These are full transcripts of various directories for this region, not just an index.
