    1. [GEELONG] Bilenan query thanks
    2. Hi everyone, Thanks for the responses to my query, but still no luck. I’ve emailed the document to Susie as suggested and hopefully that’ll do the trick. And to Joan, my husband’s grandfather only arrived in 1920 and I’m sure he’s not connected to any other Judd’s here in Australia . My families are BIRCH, COLLINS, EMOND, BONE, KEE, BLISS. Thanks again from Pauline

    3. Hi Pauline, I've had a look at the church register you sent and also a few entries in the Geelong & District Consolidated Book Index ....... worth looking at the various references. I'm almost convinced that "Bilenan" is a house / property name and not a geographic place name as we know it today. I noticed the Edward COLLINS in "Bullockies, Draymen & Horsemen" and I this definitely looks like your man - it was dated 4 Jan 1841 and referred to some problems he had with his employer - Rev Benjamin HURST - which just happens to be the minister who baptised Edward John COLLINS on 9th February 1841. It says that COLLINS was employed at the Buntingdale Mission. Immediately above the COLLINS entry in the church register, is an entry for Francis Lee TUCKFIELD at Buntingdale "near Geelong" so I would say it was at or part of the Buntingdale Mission. So have a good look at the Book Index and the Directories Index - plenty there to follow up on. Also, I presume you're aware of "Emond Family History: from Selkirk, Selkirkshire, Scotland to Geelong, Victoria, Australia 1854-2004" by Glennis Dees - if not, follow it up. Regards .............. 3. Thanks Pauline, Was just curious, as our Judd's were around Geelong and came from Devonshire in the 1850's. Always on the lookout for another connection.
