Dennis, I haven't followed all of your posts on your Smith family and Steiglitz, but noticed that there are two surviving headstones in the Steiglitz Cemetery: SMITH Catherine - without dates would have no idea if there even was a connection And SMITH Sarah Ann, William Stephen - I'm presuming the children of John Edward SMITH and Ann FRIDAY who died 1862 and 1864 respectively If you send an email to Carol to the email address given on this page, she will very kindly send you the photos of the headstones if you are interested. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ausvsac/Steiglitz.htm) Unfortunately it appears that neither John Edward's or Sarah's still survive, that is, if they were buried there. Interesting to note, that there are also a couple of Friday's, so this may give you another lead. However it would be nigh on impossible to determine which - if any - of the John Smith's is yours. As for Sarah Smith nee Tonks - that is a little more easy to work out if her parents names are given - that is her father is Tonk Tunks or Tonks. No such death record in Victoria exists to 1888 You are unfortunately researching a very common name and without further information it would be almost impossible to find them. Dale
Amanda Thanks for that, I am not sure of any connection to Catherine, maybe I will ask someone on the list to check her death and her parents. The two children are definitely connected. Thanks again.
