    1. [GEELONG] INQUESTS look up Patrick Dunne?? or Dunn
    2. Would anyone have the Victorian Inquest indexes for 1863-1868. Am looking for Patrick Dunn died 1868 and also a Patrick Dunn died 1863. Might be same one - just a misinterepted date 3 and 8 look alike when handwritten. They were both 27 and died in Melbourne. If anyone finds him Could you let me know how to get a copy of the inquest please. Thank you Julie

    3. Hi Pam and Ainslee, Sometimes we just can't help ourselves - yesterday I did a bit of checking after reading the article and found one of the daughters - put the following info together and sent to Julie Hobbs at the Addy ......... Ethel Louisa Victoria HIRST / HURST was born in Bendigo in 1893 (Reg. 29080). Her parents were Joseph Herbert HIRST and Hepzibah BRYAR / BRYAN. Other siblings of Ethel - Samuel Herbert, born 1889 in Richmond Beatrice Ann, born 1892 in Ascot Vale Hazel Rebecca, born 1897 in Highton Elsie Beatrice, born 1899 in Geelong Marion and Phillip (twins), born 1903 in Geelong, died 1903 in Geelong Frederick William BARTLETT married Ethel Louisa Victoria HIRST in 1911 (Reg. 8141) They had two daughters ........ Eileen Phyllis BARTLETT was born 1912 in Geelong (Reg. 3787) Hilda Beatrice BARTLETT was born 1914 in Footscray (Reg. 22265) Ethel Louisa Victoria BARTLETT (nee HIRST) married James Henry DONALD in 1920 (Reg. 6669) Ethel Louisa Victoria DONALD (daughter of Joseph Herbert HIRST/HURST and Hepzabah BRYAR) died aged 44 in 1938 in Melbourne (Reg. 8929) Hilda Beatrice FITZGERALD (daughter of Frederick BARTLETT and Ethel Louisa Victoria) died aged 68 in 1983 in Some (presumed Somerton or Somerville) (Reg. 14987) The death certificate of Hilda Beatrice FITZGERALD would show if she had any children, their names and ages, and the details of her husband. I could not find a death for Eileen Phyllis BARTLETT (under either first name) who also had her parents confirmed as Frederick BARTLETT and Ethel HIRST etc. - also checked for surnames of DONALD. ===================== Perhaps the full names of the daughters might job someone else's memory / files. Of course, $17.50 would hopefully tell if Hilda Beatrice FITZGERALD (nee BARTLETT) had any children!! Regards ......... Certainly west Roslyn Rd at bottom of Highton Hill ie Bellevue Ave now, was a watercourse and east Roslyn Rd descends to the Barwon River flood plain. What prompted the query was the movement of the ground in the back yards of the houses on the old dairy site. James O'Connor mentions a cooling system with water pouring over the roof. Where did the water go ? Was a farm on the site before the dairy. Also the exercise has shown that there is a mass of information on the Belmont /Highton area lying dormant just needing wakening. There were springs in that area ??? Thanks again Peter MacAuslan ==== AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT Mailing List ==== Geelong Family History Group : http://home.vicnet.net.au/~gfamhist/index.htm

    3. Hello Folks, If you posted a message on 21st, 22nd or 23rd October it is possible that it didn't make it to the Mailing List. You can check the archives at ....... http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/aus-vic-geelong-district to see if it did, otherwise you may want to send it again. Those 3 days were when rootsweb were having problems with the server that holds our mailing list and the archives show no messages for those 3 days, so it's possible that some messages may have been "vaporised"! <vbg> Of course, it's also possible that no-one sent any messages on those days, but you just never know. Sorry if it caused any problems - not much we can do about it but thought it worth mentioning in case someone was wondering what happened to their message. Mind you, we can't complain too much - rootsweb are pretty good compared to some other options and they provide us with a really wonderful resource at no cost ...... thank heavens for rootsweb! All the best ........ Susie Z, List Admin
