    2. Death records were often wrong. It just depended on who was present when she died. When my grandfather died in 1984 his fathers name was recorded and his mother was listed as unknown as my uncle didn't ask anyone what his mother's name was just said unknown even though my mother and his brothers knew the details he didn't. 3. hi Diedre Who are the parents of John and Catherine Robertson?? I am also trying to find Robertson Info for Robert and Mary (nee Sked) Robertson. Roberts father was Colin Robertson and his mother was Christiana McMartin from Perth, Scotland. Christiana came out to Geelong in 1853 with her son John Robertson who later married Isabella Burns Croll. Any relation?? 3. Thanks for looking that up for me Julie. We are ordering a death certificate. We are puzzled as to why her parents are recorded as David and Annie (Robinson) Sced. Her actual parents are William and Anne Sked. How would that information get to be recorded? Is it from the husband having made an error, or from official records? Do you have any ideas? I'd love to know if you have any idea how that information came to be recorded Thanks again Jo ----Original Message Follows---- From: JulieMWhyte@aol.com Reply-To: AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT-L@rootsweb.com To: AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [GEELONG] MARY ROBERTSON DEATH 1869 Date: Mon, 17 Nov 2003 01:10:23 EST I have found a death which is probably the Mary that you have been looking for. 3. Thanks for the lookup Dianne. We are ordering the death certificate of both Mary's. With Mary aged 38 - Would you have any clue as to how they got they incrrect details of her parents? Her actual parents are Willam and Anne Sked/Sced. Would that be a possible mistake of the husbands or would this have been taken from official records? And do you have any idea why young Mary's birth wasn't recorded? Didn't they have to register the birth somewhere?? They are a very mysterious family. 3. For anyone looking for help locating places in vic. There is a very good site hosted by Rootsweb which gives lots of old and current towns in Vic. It helps by also giving the ref ie it lists Princetown as Princetown, Corangamite 143.167 -38.655 That is town, shire, longditude, latitude. There are alos listed Princes Hill and Prince Regent gully ,But no Pricetown. There is also a map with long/lat marked to help you locate places. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~surreal/victowns/index.html ----- Original Message ----- From: Carollyn Williams <wisteria@netspace.net.au> To: <AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2003 6:31 PM Subject: Re: [GEELONG] LOST TOWN > Is it Princetown in the Otways? > Carollyn Williams > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Paulette Attwood > To: AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT-L@rootsweb.com > Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2003 10:05 AM > Subject: [GEELONG] LOST TOWN > > > Hi Listers, > > Has anyone out there ever heard of a place called Pricetown? > > Regard > Paulette > > > > ==== AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT Mailing List ==== > Geelong & District Research Centres & Museums : > http://www.zades.com.au/geelong/gdresc.htm > > > ==== AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT Mailing List ==== > Geelong & District Cemeteries : > http://www.zades.com.au/geelong/gdcem.htm >
