Hello Friends, Could I respectfully suggest that, if folk want help, they put something meaningful in the Subject Heading? Most folk on Lists get too much mail to be able to find the time to read each email that comes through ...... instead they have to skim through the Subject Headings looking for anything relevant to their own research ...... or for questions that they can answer to help others. Some even have their program set just to pick up the names that they are researching. If you put "My Interests" or "Names I Am Researching" your email could miss being read by the very person who could help you. David Fisher created the township then, and 'Olive' may have bought or leased a small block there either before or after the sale - details are confused. The map is 17/60 in the historical maps collection at the Geelong Heritage Centre, and it takes strong spectacles and a lot of faith to read it. Pat, I am researching a Daly family which arrived in Geelong. My GGG Grandfather Daniel (or Morgan) Delaney married a Julia O'Brien. Julia's sister Annie O'Brien married a Patrick Daly. They had six children that I know off - Michael, Daniel, Hannah, Patrick, John and Ellen. I have only been able to put a family together for John Daly who married Margaret Crough in 1878. The Delaneys & the Dalys were cousins. The museum are unable to trace (for the moment) the person who made the sale. I know that a James William Sillett and his wife Sally Frary come to Australia in 1853 on the Welllington and raised a family in Geelong.
