    2. Corinne Thompson
    3. Hello Friends, Could I respectfully suggest that, if folk want help, they put something meaningful in the Subject Heading? Most folk on Lists get too much mail to be able to find the time to read each email that comes through ...... instead they have to skim through the Subject Headings looking for anything relevant to their own research ...... or for questions that they can answer to help others. Some even have their program set just to pick up the names that they are researching. If you put "My Interests" or "Names I Am Researching" your email could miss being read by the very person who could help you. Where as "MADDERNs / WARRENs / TRESISEs" should immediately attract the attention of anyone researching these families. Kindest Regards ....... Corinne in Melbourne, Australia.

    3. The name OLIVE is written on a map of the 1851 subdivision of the village of Ceres in the Barrabool Hills. David Fisher created the township then, and 'Olive' may have bought or leased a small block there either before or after the sale - details are confused. The map is 17/60 in the historical maps collection at the Geelong Heritage Centre, and it takes strong spectacles and a lot of faith to read it. I have not found any other reference to the name in the district, and would be glad to learn more. 3. Pat, I am researching a Daly family which arrived in Geelong. My GGG Grandfather Daniel (or Morgan) Delaney married a Julia O'Brien. Julia's sister Annie O'Brien married a Patrick Daly. They had six children that I know off - Michael, Daniel, Hannah, Patrick, John and Ellen. I have only been able to put a family together for John Daly who married Margaret Crough in 1878. The Delaneys & the Dalys were cousins. 3. I am interested in making contact with anyone who can help with the following:- In about 2001, direct descendants of James SILLETT (1764 - 1840), of the Norwich School of Artists fame, sold some lithographs to Norwich Museum/Art Gallery. The museum are unable to trace (for the moment) the person who made the sale. I know that a James William Sillett and his wife Sally Frary come to Australia in 1853 on the Welllington and raised a family in Geelong. James William might be a direct descendant of James the artist and if anyone has an interest in this family, I'd love to make contact to help fill in a few pieces of detail about the life of James and his family.
