    3. In a previous life we produced a TBJ at the Port Fairy Court House. It still had all of the necessary fittings, and there was room for an audience in a balcony and at the rear of the Court House. Whether it is available or indeed suitable I do not know, the but the Port Fairy Info Centre would maybe know. ______________________ The Rev'd Geoffrey Humble Rector Anglican Parish of Mortlake St James' Rectory 42 Shaw Street (PO Box 207) Mortlake, Victoria 3272 Australia Ph: (03) 5599 2740 Email: geoffreyhumble@hotmail.com ________________________________ From: Susie Zada <susie.zada@gmail.com> Sent: Monday, 10 September 2018 10:00 AM To: AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT@rootsweb.com Subject: [GEELONG] Court House for use? Hi Folks, I had a request from Ken Widdowson that I said I would post to this list ... Hello Susie, do you know of any old court houses still in their traditional condition in the Geelong district and may be available for a sing through of Gilbert and Sullivan trial By Jury on a Sunday afternoon? I belong to a choir in Geelong. We had the use of an old court house in Dunolly recently and it was quite a success. Ken Widdowson, President,Forrest Historical Society. The choir is Geelong based and usually has its special Sunday “joy of singing the classics” in local Geelong churches. Any suggestions just reply to the list and I'll pass it on to Ken. Regards ... 3. Hello all, Have just been given an extract from a journal by Captain E P TREGURTHA describing the arrival of some early settlers to Geelong in 1836. One of these was a George MCKILLOP, and I wondered if any lister knew anything about this man. He also appears in ‘The Story of Melbourne’ by A S Kenyon. I am trying to determine whether he might be my GG Grand-uncle about whom I know almost nothing. Thanks and regards, Clare McKillop.

    3. Just a note of interest, last weekend a gathering of Judd Cousins was held at Mt Moriac. This was the grandchildren of Frederick William & Frances Ann (Holmes) JUDD who did farm at Mt Moriac and later lived at Belmont. Frederick William was the son of Peter Ezekiel JUDD who spent a significant amount of time in Geelong and was the Mayor at one time. 3. Hi Pauline & Barbara, Normally discussion on commercial businesses is frowned upon on Rootsweb Mailing Lists but in this case I really don't have a problem - I think you're referring to Archival Access. I know Mark and he provides a terrific service, lives in the country, and isn't out to make a fortune from people! Mark sends out a Newsletter of 'new' records he has been working on and doesn't even add a link to his web site in that newsletter! Anyway his web site is http://www.archivalaccessvictoria.com/ And I'm happy for anyone to use his services but would encourage you to send a copy to me so I can transcribe / index them and add them to the Geelong and District Database! Email to szada@zades.com.au or the link to the database - usually at the bottom of this message. If they're large, email me and we can work something out. VPRS 22 is one of the record series I have on my list to photograph and index! Another couple of places to look which might prove helpful - Victoria Government Gazette - I use this site which I find best for searching and downloading - http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/other/vic_gazette/ Also check the newspapers - particularly the Geelong Advertiser. All the best ...
