I am researching the name above without much luck for a few years. This family came from Isle of Skye, mother father and 13 children. Three children and the father died on the voyage on Wanata in 1852. Norman McNeil and his wife Anne (McLean) McNeil left Liverpool. Norman dies and Anne is left with 10 children ranging from new baby thru to twenties. 1. A daughter Anna McNeil married in Albury, Hiram Crawford. Anna died 1862. 2. A daughter Kate Boyd McNeil married William McDonald in 1876 The couple had Hugh Alexander 1885 Yan Yean, Annie Mary b Yan Yean 1880 - married John Cherry, Kate born 1888 in Morang, Martha Emma born Yan Yean Sth Morang 1891. 3. Donald McNeil died in Yan Yean 1901 aged 63. I haven't found a marriage which is definitely Donald, but there was a Norman McNeil born 1892 in Yan Yean. 4. Ewan/Ewen McNeil - no information available 5. Norman, 6. Alexander 7. Christina 8. Hugh 9. Angus 10. Betty 11. Peggy 12. Mary 13. Martin 14. Marjery. As you can see 14 names but only 13 children. Kate is the name which is listed on BDMs, but Kate doesnot appear on shipping, and only 13 children in family. I believe KATE is in fact one of te 13 as her parents on BDMs fit the family, Norman and Anne (McLean) My problem is that I believe there were two McNeil families in the district - related I am told, using similar or same names. I have a small amount of information which may or may not fit MY McNeil family and not the other family. It is very possible that most of the family lived in the district. Anne, the mother was buried with her son Donald at Strathallan Cemetery. If anyone at all is connected or can help, I would love to hear from you. regards Denise
