Hello Trevor, Can't help you much except for some info from Vision & Realisation (Education Dept book which has histories of Vic schools). The book confirms that three schools operated at Rushworth during the period you are interested in. A National school operated from 1858 to 1870, a Presbyterian school operated from 1859 to 1872, and these were replaced by a state school in 1872. It doesn't say exactly where they were located, but that they served the mining community in the area. Of no use to you in Perth, but the Public Records Office in Melbourne would possibly be the best place for the old school records.
