Hi Andy and Listers, http://www.familysearch.org shows a marriage of a couple with those names, viz 20 NOV 1860 Maybole, Ayr, Scotland. Might be them especially if you can find their immigration. Have you done the necessary search of http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au/index_search.asp?searchid=4? remembering that not everyone was unassisted, and not everyone came by a ship directly from Europe. Do you have their parents names, perhaps from their death entries? If you do, you may be able to find them in the Scottish Census for 1841 (the first) 1851 and perhaps even 1861.
