Hello Listers, I have heard reference to a place called Tombstone located near St Andrews (just NE of Melbourne). Interesting name. I assume this was one of the local goldfields. Can anyone confirm that it once existed, or better still, give a location for where it was? Cheers Peter
Dear Peter, St Andrews is in the Shire of Nillumbik (former Shire of Eltham). It was formerly known as the Queenstown and Caledonia Diggings. There is a St Andrews Historical Society who may be able to provide more details on the cemetery. St. Andrews Historical Society P O Box 9 St. Andrews.
