    3. Hello Listers, My name is Trevor Worth. Does this help anyone who is looking at Rushworth? My mother's mother was born the last of six children all at Rushworth, as I read it. Firstly the parents came separately to Victoria; James Johnston was an unassisted immig. age 26, on the 'ELIZA',May 1853 from a foreign port. Jessie( actual name Janet ) Jack was an assisted immig. age 24, on the 'CONWAY' Sept. 1858. This from the PRO Vict.. The two were married 23 Sept.1859 in the manse of the Scots Church Melbourne. Marriage Register No.658, Victoria shows that James was born in Greenock,Scotland to John Johnston & Christina McVicar. Jessie was born in Avoch (Black Isle) Scotland, to Lewis Jack & Janet McLean (actual name McLeman). They were both residing at Rushworth at the time. Marriage was witnessed by Robert Bindone & Bridget Page. Their children were: Christina b.1859, spinster, d.Bendigo, bur.Rushworth 1956. Lewis Jack Johnston b. 1862, d.1903, Vict.. John Johnston b.1863, mar 1. Sarah Ann Batten, 2. Ethel May Kitt. These families mostly in Geelong. James Jack Johnston b. 1866, may have d. 1906 & bur. R'shw'th. Alexander Jack Johnston b. 1869, nothing more known. Jessie Jack Johnston b. 1871, d. 1945. She married John Gray in London, Eng.,1900 & my late mother, Ilma, b.1903 an only child, Coolgardie, W.A., married Harold Worth,b.1906 in Perth 1931.
