    3. Hi Rade Can you tell me if you have a copy of the first Marriage Registration - the information that was given about the brides family should be fairly accurate as she would have provided it whereas for her death a third party (sometimes a family member) would have provided the information which would have been to the best of their knowledge. Rade have you checked the shipping records, if you have access to a State Library give them a call and see what they have available. You may find that they have postal information or some other records that could help you. Also check for an obituary in the paper - it is possible that there was one for James May that could give you a clue apart from one for Mary Ann Leech. I'll write to Kevin and see if he has any information for you, it will take some time as he doesn't use computers so it is snail mail with him. Let me know if you manage to find out anything else. 3. Hi Lynette Thankyou for your reply. It is most welcome. Unfortunately I have no other info for this LEECH family. In fact they seem to have disappeared. BUT: I have an interest in the possibility that the daughter Mary Ann LEECH aged 14 in 1841 is the same as the Mary Ann LEECH who married James Whitney MAY in 1851 in South Adelaide and also subsequently married Oliver RANKIN in Flinders Street, Adelaide in 1854. I would be most interested in any information you or your other researchers may have about any of these LEECH families. I already have the details of what happened to my Mary Ann LEECH in Adelaide at her marriages and afterwards. My problem is that I do not know where she came from before she 'appeared' at the first marriage to James Whitney MAY. The Adelaide Mary Ann LEECH is my ggGrandmother. Please feel free to pass my contact details to any other of your LEECH family researches. Kind Regards Rade. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynette Rabbitt" <lrabbitt@big.net.au> To: <AUS-VIC-CENTRAL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 21, 2003 12:01 AM Subject: Re: [AVC] LEECH | What other info. do you have for the Leech family? There is a McIvor Road in Bendigo, turns into the McIvor Hwy which leads to Heathcote. In the book, there is Ann Clancy, a witness in the "McIvor Gold Escort Robbery 1853" case. She knew John Francis and Wilson and they had given her a bag of gold to take ashore from the "Madagascar" and she left it with Matthew Murray, the landlord of the Railway Hotel at Sandridge (Port Melbourne). It doesn't say if she knew them in Heathcote or just on board ship - so she may never had been in Heathcote! 3. Good Morning All I have two requests for help with consulting local newspapers. The first is in regard to Patrick DOOLAN. The Inquest CD indicates that he died on 20 January 1870, as a result of falling from a horse in Kilmore. I wondered if someone might be able to check out if a report of the accident and/or obituary to Patrick appeared in the Kilmore Free Press or any other local newspaper that might have been in circulation at the time? I am also hoping to track a death notice/and or obituary for Gilley Maria MORRIS, who apparently went by the name of Maria Morris in the latter part of her life. She died aged 87 1/2 in Seymour on 21 October 1922. She was the older sister of Patrick. Thanks in anticipation Lorraine Vass Wyrallah NSW
