Hi Listers, Frank Simmons b 1886 Croydon, Surrey, England. d 1937 Kyneton, Victoria. Is there anyone out there researching or connected to this family ? Thanks, John.
Hello from Melbourne. Is anyone researching these names in the WOODEND area?: William HAIME. Married my GGAunt Christian CUNNING circa 1851 and after her death in 1862, he married ANNA MORGAN in 1863. John GRAY (GREY on some records) Married my GGAunt Marion CUNNING 21 JAN 1859. Their son John was buried in WOODEND Cemetary in 1875 Cheers, Bob Cunning
Looking for connection to Marshall MEREDITH who married Annie Cumming/s in Seymour 1867, moved out of area for a while and back again during the 1870s regards Denise
Wilson Johnson is buried in the Hillside Cemetery Gobur. I am interested in the life of this man if anyone has any particulars. regards Denise
Wm SANDERS married Mary Ann Jaques and the couple had children in the Yan Yean, Whitfield areas. Anyone know of this family or able to help me locate a piece of history on the life of the family. regards Denise
Thomas Smedes CARISON lived in Alexandra at least from 1877. I would appreciate any communication in regard to this man and his history in the town/district. I have nothing on him except he was very likely born in America, possibly New York. I have the children, but would like some reference to his own life - or books in which he may be mentioned. My apologies to Peter the listowner for sending this to the wrong email address originally. regards Denise
I am researching the name above without much luck for a few years. This family came from Isle of Skye, mother father and 13 children. Three children and the father died on the voyage on Wanata in 1852. Norman McNeil and his wife Anne (McLean) McNeil left Liverpool. Norman dies and Anne is left with 10 children ranging from new baby thru to twenties. 1. A daughter Anna McNeil married in Albury, Hiram Crawford. Anna died 1862. 2. A daughter Kate Boyd McNeil married William McDonald in 1876 The couple had Hugh Alexander 1885 Yan Yean, Annie Mary b Yan Yean 1880 - married John Cherry, Kate born 1888 in Morang, Martha Emma born Yan Yean Sth Morang 1891. 3. Donald McNeil died in Yan Yean 1901 aged 63. I haven't found a marriage which is definitely Donald, but there was a Norman McNeil born 1892 in Yan Yean. 4. Ewan/Ewen McNeil - no information available 5. Norman, 6. Alexander 7. Christina 8. Hugh 9. Angus 10. Betty 11. Peggy 12. Mary 13. Martin 14. Marjery. As you can see 14 names but only 13 children. Kate is the name which is listed on BDMs, but Kate doesnot appear on shipping, and only 13 children in family. I believe KATE is in fact one of te 13 as her parents on BDMs fit the family, Norman and Anne (McLean) My problem is that I believe there were two McNeil families in the district - related I am told, using similar or same names. I have a small amount of information which may or may not fit MY McNeil family and not the other family. It is very possible that most of the family lived in the district. Anne, the mother was buried with her son Donald at Strathallan Cemetery. If anyone at all is connected or can help, I would love to hear from you. regards Denise
Good morning, I am looking for information on a Michael BRENNAN who lived in GOBUR. SKS has given me extracts from "Gobur and the Golden Gate" but I am hoping someone one the list is descended from Michael. Michael it is thought was a Civil War VET and came to Australia via New Zealand. ANY information at all would be appreciated - I have the BDMS thanks. regards Denise

Hello Listers, Just to confirm that Jenny B is not going mad. It appears that on a significant number of Rootsweb lists, some posts made on 21 November were delayed and didn't get sent out until yesterday. If anybody made posts about that date and haven't yet seen them on the list (or on the archive site), please re-post them to the list (perhaps with an explanation for the repost). Cheers Peter Lakeman List admin for the AUS-VIC-CENTRAL mailing list

Hello everyone. Does anyone have this family in their tree? I am after information about them for a Berwick district local history database. George William Haysey and Anne (nee Adkins) had 4 known children in the Seymour district between 1894 & 1899. (Would some lovely person with the CD give me exact years?) The family moved to the Berwick district sometime before WW1 when sons Robert Elsmere and Norman enlisted. Norman was killed in France in 1918 while Robert was mentioned in despatches by General Birdwood and won the Croix de Geurre. I'm particularly looking for photos and other memorabilia of Norman. Best wishes, jenny
