Yes, it was Joseph Ambrose Smith that was Mary's first husband and William Alexander was their son. I cannot to date find when Mary Brown/Smith/Foote died so I have no death certificate. I found a John Foote death in 1926 so I don't yet know if that was her second husband and whether she married again. I know my greatgrand parents were alive in 1954, living in Bairnsdale or surrounds but I don't have actual names for them then. Ref my original post, Mary BROWN put her father down as John Brown on one marriage certificate and Henry Brown on another with her mother as Annie Boyd on both occasions.
