She was a barmaid employed by the builder/first owner Andrew Anderson who was a widow with young daughters. She sued him for breach of promise and the only thing I have is the newspaper reports - quite sordid for the times. Don't know what happened to her. Can't find a marriage or death. She was from Victoria. Perhaps the ghost was his second wife (both died young), who never lived there but who died just a couple of years before Maude came on the scene and wandered the halls looking for her husband??? Now I know the ghost story is true (I just thought it was drummed up after someone found the newspaper article) but didn't see/hear anything when I stayed overnight a few years ago. I am sure it could have been any number of women and Maude Wrathall was only there a very short time. Thanks for the info. I love stories like this. Cheers, Lesley.
