Wow, thank you for all of this. Yes, many Horace's in this family. Father: Frank (Horace) Mawdesley b 1855 Son: William Horace b 1879 in SA (estranged - mother Florence died young) Son: Horace Frank b 1889 and died in France during the war. No known grave, however I have now found reference to him in the battle of Aubers Ridge, Fromelles. Going through all the children, the only child I don't have a birth date for now is Violet. I know that she married and had 2 children and died from TB in Wooraloo - yet there is no birth registered for her in Western Australia or any other state from what I can see. There are no family stories claiming that she was adopted or sent from another family, so I can only assume she was the child of Frank (Horace) and Lily......however I have seen records for another Violet Mawdesley in the UK.
