Christina McKenzie Wells was married to Michael Augustas Page Taylor following the death of her husband John Wells in 1874 at Barnadown Inn, near Bendigo, Victoria. Michael Augustas Page Taylor and Christina McKenzie Wells were married in 1877. Michael's occupation was listed as a licensed victualler. They had a son Lawrence on 16 January 1878. He died two months later. Christina died on 26 January 1879. It appears Christina Findlay Davidson had separated from her husband David. He married Christina Findlay Davidson at the Retreat Hotel in Brighton, Victoria in 1887 following the death of her husband. This appeared to be a stormy relationship that was on and off several times. During a Court Case held in Perth regarding maintenance. Michael stated he first met Christina Findlay Davidson in 1878 when she was living in a cottage at the back of the hotel as the laundress. This would have been the Clare Inn at Barnadown. He stated that Illicit intercourse took place and a child was the result. A fellow researcher and I believe Janet Hastings Davidson was that child. On questioning by the Judge Christina Findlay Davidson Taylor stated they cohabitated and a child was born. That child was Dora Taylor. She was 10 years old at the time of the Court case and was a witness for her mother. There were several Court cases involving maintenance for Dora. I can forward you copies. Christina Findlay Davidson actually followed him overseas a couple of times. During the whole time Michael was married to both Christina's he appeared to be involved with Emily Amelia Ridley. In a Court case held in Healesville Victoria Emily Amelia Ridley stated she was Michael's affiance prior to him marrying Christina Findlay Davidson. At the time of the Court case in Perth he and Emily Amelia Ridley had four children. She supposedly was keeping him by making an income from sewing. A fellow researcher and I believe that child was Janet Hastings Davidson the youngest child Registered under David Davidson and Christina Findlay Davidson. They went on to have a family of seven. There is no evidence in the records of them marrying. I note one entry on Google regarding Janet Hastings Davidson states that she was reared by an Aunty. I am interested to know the name of your father's half brother. Is it Colyer John McKay? I believe Janet Hastings Davidson remarried an American Gerald McKay and they had the above child born in China. This has been an on going project for me and one of the most challenging! I have help from several others but you appear to have the closest relationship with Janet Hasting Davidson.
