So now, the information I have is as follows: Frank Mawdesley Birth oct/nov/dec quarter 1855, west derby, lancashire. Christening 13 dec 1855, lancashire Parents Joseph Mawdesley & Elizabeth Timperley McQuie Death 28th January 1932, buried 29th January, Collie Cemetery Age at death says '88 years', however I agree with you and the dates don't add up. He was 77 at his death which explains the curious date on the transcription mentioned above. Seems like we almost have this man figured out! There are still a couple of questions outstanding. 1. Who is Huxley mentioned as an 'issue' on the death certificate? There is no one in the family named Huxley that I am aware of. Huxley's age at Frank's death doesn't add up to any of the children (he would have been born 1897). Frank's known children are: Violet (b ?), Gordon (b 1908), Ivy (b 1904), Pansy (b 1902), Lilian (b 1900), Cecil McQuie (b 1895), Stanley (b 1893), Ernest Percy (b 1891), Horace Frank (b 1889), William Horace (b 1879) 2. When and how did Frank arrive in Australia? I have seen him registered on a census record age 15 in England in 1871. Family oral history tells of him landing in Sydney off the boat (migration).
