Wonder if we can cross-reference information? I have also written to Brambling thanking for all the details provided on the site. Very helpful. Here is some info on Charles James FINN: Charles James FINN born to Ann FINN in 1845 at Thannington, Canterbury, Kent, England. Thannington is on the Wincheap Estate, not far from Kent & Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury, County Kent, England. Father listed as unknown. Ann later married William Divers on 28 Feb 1847 at St. Mildred, Canterbury. The marriage certificate states her father was Elijah FINN. William & Ann's address is listed as Wincheap, Canterbury, Kent. They had two children: Elijah Frederick Divers born & died 1847 and Elizabeth Ann Divers born & died 1848. Sadly, William Divers died in 1848. Ann Divers and her son Charles FINN, 3 years, lived with Elizabeth FINN(Snr). The 1851 Census data lists Ann Divers, 23 years, and Charles FINN, 5 years, living with Elizabeth FINN (Snr). Sadly, Ann Divers died in 1852. Charles FINN was an only son and the only 'Charles' in the FINN family up to that time. Charles FINN, 6 years, continued to live in the household with Elizabeth FINN. The 1861 Census data lists Ch! arles,16 years, as living in the household with Elizabeth FINN (Snr). He has been mistakenly listed as another son, but he was Ann Finn's son. He migrated to Australia at the age of 21-22 years arriving approx. 1866. He had a large family in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia where many of his descendants still live. Some of his cousins, that is siblings of his mother Ann FINN, migrated to South Australia. Still researching and I would welcome information on Lawrence FINN and James Alfred FINN if you have any so that we may cross-reference. Thank you. Look forward to hearing from you.
