My mother's maternal line were Ashtons from Blakeville. Henry Ashton, my ancestor, was Stephen's brother, who happens to be an ancestor of a work colleague, which makes us cousins. my workmate is happy for me to keep him up to date about the Cowell/Ashton family. I found at PROV today the certificates pertaining to Charlotte Cowell, who was born and died at sea after living for 9 days.
