Dear Listers, I am hoping that someone on the list may be able to help me. I am researching my grandmother's family, they were Green's from Sutton in Holderness, Hull, Yorkshire, and have come across a "public tree" which I think knocks down one of those infernal "walls" Unfortunately the "owner" first subscribed in the Victoria mailing list in 2008 and has not signed in for over 12 months. The ID used was "iggreen31" Is there anyway anyone can connect with this individual, I have sent a message on the Ancestry mailing system but am not holding my breath. My connection is George Green who married Ann Walker in Holy Trinity Church, Kingston-upon-Hull (more commonly these days just referred to as Hull), Yorkshire in 1844. They emigrated to Australia and there had a child George Green (born 1856 in Campbell's Creek, Victoria), he married Elizabeth Jane Dunstan ( born 27 Dec 1860 in Vaughan, Victoria). Their son George Richard William Green (born 12 May 1885 in Richmond Victoria, died 11 July 1962 in Hampton, Victoria) married on the 12 Oct 1930 in St Kilda, Victoria, to Iris Victoria Symons (born 5 Nov 1899, Bendigo, Victoria, died 2 Feb 1979 in Caulfield, Victoria), they had two children, both of whom married twice ...... And there my story ends ... Unfortunately, as both these people are shown on the public tree as "living", but it does show they had a number of children. A similar plea to the mailing list for New South Wales turned up a whole host of my Welsh connections so I'm hoping that Victoria will not let me down !!! Incidentally, I note that there is more than one "mailing list" for Victoria, would I be advised to try any of them and if so which? Regards Roger M Evans Bridgnorth UK
