I'll try the site again, i though t i was having trouble accessing from England, That makes sense, in 1851 census, Kate is with her Father s sister Mary Ann Bassett (nee Maggs), her husband William Bassett and Rebecca Thomson. Rebecca Wade ( i haven't been able to find that ...brilliant !) was frst married to James Maggs, then John Thomson. So 2 Maggs children and 2 Thomson. So Mary Ann Maggs and Rebecca Thomson have the same mother and different fathers, Mary Ann and rebecca T are half sisters. Mary Ann Basseeet was born 1809 in KEnt, I found someone matching this details on an Oz site, marrying one Obed Woodhams, so wonder if thi is my Mary Ann.
