Hi Jocelyn No the baby wasnt adopted so it seems incredible to me two names exactly the same, two deaths but different parents. The parents of mine were def Neil and Violet and I had heard about this child who was very sickly and not sure but was a problem also with him. Angus Neil Buchan MacPhee is not common so very strange. HI As you would have noticed the boy was living with the HASSELBY's - with his own McPhee name.....see death notice and Electoral Roll info. There are not 2 boys!! What I was suggesting is that he was not living with his parents for some reason - adoption may have been the wrong word - because the H's refer to him as their child ( not their son ) and they received the bereavement cards etc ( which they thanked everyone for later in July ) and refer to'their bereavement '- well, everyone would have felt that way but the H's seem to be the main mourners -in other people's minds as well, as people seemed to grieve with and for the H's....I wonder if anyone can help you with more clues as to what happened. The family had a lot sadness to cope with Post back if you get any more news Best regards Jocelyn On Fri, Jul 20th, 2012 at 9:07 PM, P & K Lucas <pklucas@tpg.com.au> wrote: > Hi Jocelyn > No the baby wasnt adopted so it seems incredible to me two names exactly > the > same, two deaths but different parents. > > The parents of mine were def Neil and Violet and I had heard about this > child who was very sickly and not sure but was a problem also with him. > > Angus Neil Buchan MacPhee is not common so very strange. > > Thanks Again > Kathryn > > -------------------------------------------------- > From: "JB" <jabond@tpg.com.au> > Sent: Friday, July 20, 2012 7:09 PM > To: <aus-vic@rootsweb.com> > Subject: Re: [AUS-VIC] Inquest index look up please > > > Not sure what is going on with this family! > > > > Here is Frithjof in 1954 .... > > > > Name: Frithjof Hasselby > > Gender: Male > > Electoral Year: 1954 > > State: Victoria > > District: Higinbotham > > Subdistrict: Bentleigh > > With Anne Gibson R HASSELBY, at 14 Clairmont Ave- Frith is an engineer > > > > Did they adopt the boy I wonder?..they were there 1949 as well > > > > Name: Frithjof Hasselby > > Arrival Date: 2 May 1936 > > Birth Year: abt 1908 > > Age: 28 > > Gender: Male > > Ethnicity/Race- > > /Nationality: Scandinavian > > Port of Departure: Buenos Aires, Argentina > > Port of Arrival: New York, New York > > Port Arrival State: New York > > Port Arrival Country: United States > > Ship Name: Gavsdal > > He was crew onboard > > > > I then looked for HASSELBY in the papers: > > > > The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848 - 1956) Friday 27 July 1951 > > > > % BEREAVEMENT CARDS > > > > HASSELBY.-Mr and Mrs HASSELBY and Mr GREENALL of 14 Claremont > avenue > > Bentleigh wish to THANK all kind relatives, neighbours and friends > for > > floral tributes cards, telegrams, letters, visits and personal > > expressions of sympathy in their recent very sad bereavement.
