They came from Avoca, Wicklow, ireland, but on their papers i Ireland their name was Kearn but on the boat it was Kairn and by the time the next generation got married it was Kairns. On the wedding certs were signed with a cross so it depended on who filed out the papers to how their name was spelt. Any way I have Michael Kearns son of William Kearns and Susanna Pritty. born 1825 Avoca, Wicklow. I have found 5 brothers and sisters for him but no Timothy. Nor have I followed any other family to Australia. This family lived in Bendigo less than an hour from Kilmore and Michaels son Daniel married a girl from Kilmore even closer to Kilmore.
