Unfortunately I do not know where Foster Spencer Williams is buried. Annie Margaret Ashby is buried at the Kew Cemetery in Melbourne, single internment. I am currently investigating the other Williams family in St. Kilda to see if they are connected. Annie Ashby's death certificate states she died in Jervois Street, St. Kilda, the same street the other Williams family lived. Henry E. Williams appears to be the same person as Henry Gordon Williams. Henry was a photographer which is stated on his war records, Claude's will and in the Electoral Roll. I believe Amelia Gordon Williams is Henry's mother not sister. The war pension in Henry's war records lists Amelia as his mother although all other documentation says sister. I have traced Amelia's parents to Robert Williams and Margaret Gordon. Their children were Annie Baker Williams born 1861 St. Kilda, Reg. No. 1532. Amelia Ellen (Helen) Gordon Williams born 1863 Port, Victoria, Reg No. 1607. I found the death certificate of a Robert Baker Williams who died in 1919 St. Kilda, Victoria aged 54. Reg. No. 15078. His parents are listed as Robert Baker Williams and Margaret Gordon. Estimated birth year to be 1865. Electoral rolls in 1903 lists an Amelia Williams and two Robert Baker Williams', one a gardener and one a machinist, as living in 39 Jervois Street, St. Kilda. In the 1909 Electoral Roll only Amelia Williams and Henry Williams live at 39 Jervois Street, St. Kilda. In the 1914 Electoral Roll, Amelia Williams is listed as Amelia Helen Gordon Williams and Henry Williams as Henry Gordon Williams, 39 Jervois Street, St. Kilda. Claude Spencer Williams is my Great Uncle. His birth certificate has his name as Claude Spencer Ashby, illegitimate and I'm assuming he took on the name of Williams later in life. All the children of Annie Ashby have either father unknown or illegitimate on their birth certificates. I do know from my Grandmother Elsie Marie Williams (Claude's sister), that Foster Spencer Williams was considered their father. In 1903 Foster Williams lived at 38 Camden Street, St. Kilda and in 1909 lived at 4 Camden Street, St. Kilda. So although we find records with his residential addresses and signatures on Claude's war documents, I can find no trace of him either by a birth certificate or death certificate and Annie's death certificate states she was unmarried. I'm wondering if Foster Spencer Williams was known by another name? He is a mystery. I hope the above information might give some clarification.
