The came from the townland of Carriganagh in the parish of Bansha & Kilmoyler. Maurice died sometime around 1848. Ellen Carroll was from an adjoining townland of Ballydrehid - her father James Carroll had been transported for sheep stealing in 1827 and was assigned on the Monaro. Her mother Mary Peters and her brother Tom, Edmond and James came out at some point (have never managed to find a record) and Ellen came out with her children.
