When her son Alfred HEYWOOD enlisted in 1941 he lists Dorothy as his NOK as Dorothy HEYWOOD...so he knew she wasn't married..and states he lived with her at 113 Barkley Street. Just because two people live together doesn't mean they both contacted Elect Office and updated details... John James may have never updated his address info.
