I have some letters somewhere on my pc that Alice wrote to the army during WW1 in regards to my grandfather John Frederick Nicholls welfare during the war. John Frederick Nicholls is my mums dad. John is the only child from James Ridley Nicholls first marriage to my great grandmother Isabella Jane Pretlove. I will see if i can find them and send them to you if you are interested. It appears that Alice must have left James Ridley Nicholls before he died in 1919 as these letters are written from Surrey Hills NSW.
