Both Trees only show the daughter Frances' family - and one has a photo of Frances' daughter. I could get you in touch with that Tree owner if you are interested The Trees have Thomas' birthplace as Plymouth Devon, but there is no birth record for that - there is a HINMAN family there but no Thomas b 1862 - so this needs a bit of work - maybe the marriage cert could give details You may like to know that Thomas returned to England in 1937 aged 75! Name: Thomas Hinman Birth Date: abt 1862 Age: 75 Port of Departure: Brisbane, Australia Arrival Date: 3 May 1937 Port of Arrival: Hull, England Ports of Voyage: Brisbane gave proposed address as ' Aust. House, Strand', Retired. Note his departure was from Brisbane Beatrice was born 1900 in Queensland...and died 1980 un Parke, Vic Name: Beatrice Hinman Birth Date: 18 Oct 1900 Father's Name: Thomas Hinman Mother's Name: Agnes Cleaves - a typo here Birth Place: Queensland Registration Year: 1900 Registration Place: Queensland I found these deaths on the Qld BDM site: 1895/C2853 Francis John Hinman parents: Thomas Hinman Agnes Gleaves 1905/B5635 Agnes Hinman There were 9 children born in Qld - you can search BDM records for free if you want: https://www.bdm.qld.gov.au/IndexSearch/queryEntry.m?type=births In case you don;t have much on Thomas, I have found him on the Electoral Rolls in Vic: Thomas was on his own ( but probably with his children) at 328 King St Melbourne in 1909 - occ: watchman By 1914, he was a tobacco worker living at Kelson St, Coburg with Florrie in 1919 at same address, but with daughters Frances and Florrie ( I believe this is Catherine Florence H b 1891 Qld) By 1924, he was still at 17 Kelson St and had same job - and with daughter Josephine. Florrie is Florence Kathleen ( slight name change here) and she is over at 3 Cameron St, Richmond North -occ ' general' By 1931, he is with Florence Kathleen ( a machinist) and Beatrice ( home duties )- at 13 Kelson St by 1937, he is with Beatrice and son Robert Victor, a labourer by 1942, it is just Thomas and Beatrice at home by 1949, Thomas is listed as on his own but there is a line through his name and " O R" alongside You will find some refs in the newspapers as well ..eg: 1928 DOG KILLS CHICKENS. Claim for Damages Fails.' Leslie James Hill Hurley, salesman and poultryfarmer, of Bellevue street, Coburg, brought an action against Thomas Hinman, of Kelson street, Coburg, before Judge Macindoe... and 1949: . THOMAS HINMAN Late of 13 Kelson Street Coburg Retired Tobacco Operative Deceased -After fourteen clear days Josephine Marquis of 23 Suvla grove North Coburg married woman and Robert Victor Hinman c1 Saxon street Numurkah railway employee, the executrix and executor appointed by deceased s will dated the twelfth day of February 1937 will APPLY to the Supreme Court for a grant of PROBATE of the said WILL It seems he was charged with assault in 1882 in Qld - although there was another man, a railway porter who was later killed in 1886 - so may not be your man involved in the assault charge. There is a lot more if you want pure genealogy, but not much in the way of photos unless those Tree owners have some more Cheers Jocelyn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
