I hope you buy it! That was great news about Alice as well- I was worried she had died as there has been nothing in the records and I have to confess I haven't read all the articles carefully - just grabbed what I could find Charles and Grace definitely separated - Grace said she was married in 1911- was the article after 1911 about Charles and wife in a play? I found earlier ones....they state the Theatre companies they were with on the Ellis Islands records, so you might like to look at that to see when they changed companies. I searched US records in the hope Grace ran off to live there but nothing appears. I wonder if she changed her name after the separation - he was a bigger star than she was and there was a lot of shame with marriage breakdowns in those days. So now we have to find Alice...and work out who Olive DUDLEY belonged to...but that will have to be another day You can join your local library and get access to the Gale newspapers ( Times and all the old newspapers)( check they have access to it) and heaps more - and search them from home...also the New York Times is online - CC features more often than Grace..if I get a minute I will try some of the other papers We did well from your initial inquiry didn't we!! but you didn't say if there is a family resemblance! I suspect she took after her Irish ancestors with that colouring:-)) Cheers Jocelyn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
