A bit more from that Tree...according to the Tree, Catherine had been married to a Henry SHORTALL and had a son Henry in 1854.... I haven't found a record to verify this, however there is a death cert for James Valentine and on that it states his mother was nee SHORTEN. Not sure if this where the assumption has been made her maiden name was SHORTEN or not, but death certs are often quite inaccurate for parent details. Hi Jackie The info I have also lists Anne 1856 and James Valentine 1862 - 1931, he married Annie McGHIE/EE who had 9 children. Can you get me the link to the family tree on ancestry? The tree sounds ok, till I check it out. The info comes from a friend who have looked at their ancestors.
