His name was Alexander McIntosh and arrived in Melbourne around 1852-53 with his wife Sarah, he was a master seaman. I believe they lived at Amherst and tried their luck digging for gold. they had at least four children ,James,Charles and Agnes, another baby,Alice died 1856 age 6wks I have heard Alexander became master of the governor of Melbourne`s yacht around 1869??
