Hello Listers I wonder if anyone can assist me. I am seeking the mother's name as listed in the Southhampton UK Birth records for my grandfather Augustus Charles Messinger born 1838.Southhampton UK Also his sister CeciliaDorothy 02/4/ 1831 Their father's should be recorded as John(Johann) Carl Messinger. There is confusion re their mothers name. It could be due to a language problem. They were baptised at St HelierParish Church Jersey Channel Islands 14/2/1838. Previous research has been confusing re her name. Was her name Smith or De Silva or Jennings? Any help very much appreciated. Laurel

Hi Laurel I found a Tree on Ancestry that shows 2 children ( out of 16!)for Augustus named : Louisa DeSilva Messenger 1876 - George DeSilva Messenger 1871 - 1872 Plus Cecilia Annie Messenger 1866 - 1867 I have not been able to find anything else at all!
