I have him in a number of censuses with more children and he died 1907- he was a retired engine fitter in 1901 with a number of children still at home - his wife, Emma Jane was born in Cornwall 1852 - this was a second marriage - his first marriage was to Martha b abt 1830 in Surrey . He was a white smith in 1851, not about in 1861 ( so must be in Malta)a licensed victualler of the Cambridge Hotel in 1871 with Martha and son Martin J b Malta - living in Devon...by 1881 he was in Woolwich as a whitesmith and fitter - with new wife Emma Jane Name: Martin Bentley Spouse: Martha Mackay Marriage: 22 Sep 1850 - Newington St Mary their son was Martin John Archibald - who married 1887 I am not sure if there is a connection with Victoria, but if not, and you want more info, you are welcome to contact me off list Cheers Jocelyn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
