I had a quick look at the Electoral Rolls, and the closest I can come up with for a father in the same area is a John Marten, at Geraldton, 1906. Name: John Marten (Labourer) Gender: Male Electoral Year: 1906 State: Western Australia District: Coolgardie Subdistrict: Geraldton Re the marriage of an Alice Martin to Robert Dean in 1928, you can most lilely eliminate that one as well, as they were married in the Presbyterian Church (she the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Martin, Dorrinup, Mt. Barker). You really need to purchase a birth (or marriage) certificate for your father to establish his parents' correct names.
