HI I have a very confusing family history situation with the above. I have just received his marriage certificate to Maria Goody in NSW and it states that Charles Star was born in Victoria ( he was 24 in 1861). On his son's birth certificate it states Charles was born in Cambridge (England) and also on his death certificate it say's born in Cambridge, lived in NSW for 40 years (in 1897 Temora NSW) I'm trying to work out why he (or whoever) stated that he was born in Victoria and his parents are John Star (A farmer ) and ANN WRIGHT. Mary Wright is listed as mother on his death certificate. I'm just so lost now as nothing is adding up with this being Charles Starr from Foxton Cambridgeshire mother Ann LOKER and father John STARR. Help please any clues or suggestions. Kindest regards Dianna

HI Jocelyn Thanks so much for all of that, I cannot make head nor tail of this marriage certificate, I've never seen anything so confusing. There was a bit of confusion on the shipping record for the Charles Starr who arrived in NSW in 1857, it stated that he came from Foxton Kent, there is a Folkestone in Kent, but Foxton is in Cambridge. I was just told that someone found a tree on ancesty and they saw that a Charles Starr died in England and the parents were John Star and Ann Loker, so if he died in England, I must have a different one here. Just doesn't add up. All the information you have collated is correct for the Starr brothers and sister that came to Australia. Also the immigration papers said that Charles did not have any relatives in the colony this was at the end of 1857, the other supposed siblings arrived early in 1857 unless they were not speaking to each other or didn't know each others plans. Now I will try and find a Charles Starr born to a John Star and Mary or Ann Wright. And it was him doing the sheep stealing for heavens sake this collates with all the information I have for them living in the area of Temora, Sebastopol, Bagdad. Thanks so much for taking the effort and time to reply it is very much appreciated. Kindest regards Dianna
