Hello everyone. Here I am in the south of the UK which is a bit on the wet side. I am eager though to trace a cousin of mine. His name is DOUGLAS H G LINDSAY. and he was born Bournemouth in 1930. His parents were my mothers elder sister ELSIE, and her husband JOHN who my siblings and I knew as Uncle Jack. He always came to visit us in his sailors uniform when we were young. I know Elsie died in Monmothshire. When Douglas came on some visits I could see he was a shy lad but I took to him. I know Douglas emigrated to Australia and I remember a photograph of him standing on the roof of his bungalow which was submerged by flooding with only the top of the roof showing. I have no idea where he lives. He would also know that my mother (his aunt) WINIFRED MORRIS emigrated to Australia and died in Sans Souci. I presume as he married, he would have had a family. Thank you for any help. April Clark nee Morris

Hi, A check on Ancestry has an Edwin Charles Robertson, born 1902 Ballarat who was awarded a UK Campaign Medal for Merchant Seaman WW1, it has a website of http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk Also an Edwin Charles Robertson is shown as again born 1902 and died Dec 1942 in Northumberland Central UK. The Reference for that is Vol 106 Page 403. Could this be your chap, you did mention he had navy connections. Val, If you get the marriage registration that should tell you where he was born and who his parents were. You can download a copy of the image from the Vic BDM online place using your credit card, I think currently it is $20.
