VICTORIA. MELBOURNE, May 28. James Ryan died to-day at Birchip from injuries received owing to a heavily-loaded bullock-waggon passing over his body on Wednesday. 02 May, 1893; DONALD, Monday Thomas Ryan, a selector in the mallee, near Birchip was riding home a few nights since when his horse fell in a lonely part of the mallee, breaking the rider's thigh. Ryan lay for a long time in great suffering until he was found. He was removed to Birchip, but inflammation having set in it has prevented the setting of the bone for the time being. Saturday 7 December 1907 RYAN. -On the 30th November, at her residence, No. 11 Albert street, Anne Ryan, sister of Thomas Ryan, Tuaggra street, Maryborough, native of Templemore, Co, Tipperary, Ireland. "Pray for her." RYAN. - On the 6th December, at his residence, Home Hotel, Launching Place, Michael Foster Ryan, who passed away peacefully, after a long and painful illness, aged 63 years. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, if you haven't already, you could try searching the trove website using RYAN and then Templemore in the search bix below - or Birchip or other places so any search will bring up the name RYAN and the place name as well. I have phoned a very nice man who has a list of burials at Birchip cemetery but the earliest burial there was 1893 - a JOhn RYAN, infant from Narraport. He has other RYANs listed but all are after this date - eg Mary buried 1911 aged 72 and Mary Anne buried 1942 aged 80 - both from Whirily..there was also an infant Bridget from Curyo buried 1910 - all RC religion. There must have been an earlier cemetery somewhere nearby - I checked Donald Cemetery, but no Ryans of interest...not sure where else to try around that area but you may like to try below.
