Hi Maggie I don't know if its my computer playing up or what, but I just tried to post a message to the board and the cosmos ate it...I was explaining how to open the wills ...however, the website seems to be down right now - you may have to wait until Monday til the techies come back to work...anyway, if you found how to search for her name, what you do, is go to the bottom of the 'index' record and click on one of the boxes which are in the right hand side of the 2 columns ( I am doing this from memory)- I can't remember what the boxes say, but click on one and wait a while for the record to load up - then when you have read that, go 'back' and click on the 2nd box..there will be more information Let me know how you go- not sure you will survive all weekend with all the excitement of this new discovery, but hang in there- just briefly, Lucy wrote a will in 1914 in very shaky handwriting leaving everything to Isaac- however, he only found it later- after it was held she had died intestate( no Will)..meaning Isaac would have had to share the 450 quid with her 2 brothers....anyway he got the lot in the end..she bought some land and a house which was neglected by the tenants- Isaac said she had got the money from her first husband and he had helped out as well.
