Did you have a look at the Joseph LEE charged with forging a dsocumant? he was a watchmaker ( from memory) who could sign his name- your Joseph could sign his name....if you can wade through the Joseph LEE mentions ( maybe use the exclude search facitlity ' shipping' or 'cutter' ), you will see w few more articles about him - there may have been more than one JL obviously, but worth checking out. I was thinking that Joseph may have moved to NSW either with Charlotte or later - there are some possible deaths in NSW for a JL. Also - re Sarah LEE - its possible she had a son - there is mention in one article of her son. Let us know what is in the marriage cert when you get it Cheers Jocelyn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am going to get their marriage certificate - hopefully that will give me a clue about Joseph's parents and where he was born. It sounds like Sarah may have been a 'lady of the night'..lol. There were other articles on Trove where she was charged with being drunk and also for bad language! I also thought Anna's surname may have been DRAPER, but after much searching, I found nothing under that name either. It doesn't sound like Joseph was a nice man, so perhaps Charlotte took off after she got to know him. Anyway, hopefully one day I will unravel the mystery. Thanks again for all your help - it is much appreciated. Kind regards Lisa Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Born 1897 Father, George James Collisson Mother, Alice Folkes Alice and Stanley were still living together in 1931 at Hotham Street Melbourne but sometime after that they separated. As far as I can find Stanley seems to have returned to NSW where I believe he died in Sydney about 1962. It is believed Violet remarried but I haven't been able to find any remarriage for her and it seems she remained in Victoria possibly Bendigo but not certain about that. Any help in finding what happened to Violet or any contact with her family would be much appreciated. Chris....i forgot to mention the national archive record will tell you where Richard went to. I have found my mother in law in the same records. It was common for them to be placed in a boarding house to start with but at least you will find the state he came to.
