    3. I wish to express my sincere thanks for the help I have received today from this list and especially Pam, Anne, Jackie and Jocelyn. I posted some sketchy details last night and with the help of every piece of information I received today I have been able to talk to Vivienne’s son on the phone tonight and he will be letting Joan Felicity’s two sons know about our search. Congratulations to all of you on your thorough research and your willingness to share it with me. I am truly grateful, very happy tonight and have made some Melbourne rellies happy too. With my thanks Hazel

    3. Michael The index for Victorian BDM's is online and you can order a copy of the record for the death. Details of cost are on the site. https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search?action=getHistIdxSearchCr iteriahttps://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search?action=getHistIdxSe archCriteria You could also try the National library Trove newspaper site in case there was a death/funeral or obit notice. http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper?q= Hope this helps. Joan Hello, i have recently found a connection to a Boland family who migrated to Melbourne from Westmeath Ireland some time before 1859 and would like to know how to obtain the full death record of someone whose death I located in the Australian death index on ancestry.com from 1861 and 1880. Also anyone who is connected to the John Boland / Catherine Cooney married in 1861 family in Oakleigh Melbourne. My Great Great grandfather Lawrence Boland of Troy NY was his brother. Thanks for any help offered. Best, Michael

Author: 1_randam Surnames: Williams, Ashby Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.oceania.australia.vic.general/11017.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: In regard to the death of Foster Spencer Williams, I only have the word of mouth information from my Grandmother, Elsie Marie Chandler nee Williams. She married my Grandfather Edmund Scottick Charles Chandler in January, 1924 in Western Australia. She was unable to be married before that date because she was nursing her ill father in Melbourne until he died. His name, Foster Spencer Williams is on her wedding certificate as being her father. We know he was alive on 4/1/1923 as he signed a form authorising Elsie Williams to pick up a memorial plaque for Claude on his behalf. So I am assuming he died sometime in the year of 1923. For your further information some of the six children born to Annie Ashby have the name of Spencer Williams not Foster Spencer Williams on their death certificates being listed as their father. I am led to believe that the first two children born to Annie Ashby, Ivy May and Elsie Marie may not in fact be the actual children of Foster. The following four children are believed to be. Claude Spencer, Linda Alice, Constance and Robert Leslie. This is very recent information I have received verbally from the grandaughter of Ivy May. I'll look into any Williams/Bouchier...Williams/Wingfield connection. Thank you for your help, much appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
