Honorah was born in County Clare Ireland in 1853 and came to Victoria via Tasmamia in approx1855. Honorah married James Glasgow in 1878 in the Melbourne Registery Office. They had 3 children Mary Ann 1879-1933 John Thomas 1881-1946 Elizabeth Maude 1884-1885 James Glasgow died in 1885, From then on nothing is known what became of Honorah, her living children in the early 1900 went to live with James sister in Queensland. On Honorah's mothers death certificate in 1908 it is stated she is dead. On her marriage certificte her name is Norah on her children it is Nora, Honorah, and Norah. Have searched Victorian BDM site and The Argus ,nothing has come up. maybe I have missed her death. Any suggestion would be welcome. Hi Andrew That army case is a fantastic find ....I wonder if you should post your message to the Board? That way, if anyone is researching this family they might google the name and this message will come up....it won't be found so easily when just posted on this List... http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.oceania.australia.vic.general/mb.ashx Cheers Jocelyn On Mon, Sep 17th, 2012 at 1:10 PM, Andrew Kemp <kemp.andrew@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, > > Jane spotted this on ebay and thought a member of the list might be > interested. > > > Thomas Edward Digby, born in Port Fairy, would probably be pretty keen to > find out this exists. Thanks Jocelyn... for passing on this information with regard to the Land Titles Office I have just been able to purchase, on-line and download immediately my childhood home in Seaford, plus my Grandparents home in Northcote. Cost is very reasonable.. $17 per search. You can then save the images, and/or print off the information., And of course, I did both And like other Victorian resources, especially BDM the so-called waiting time is 1 minute. Can't ask better than that. Hi, Jane spotted this on ebay and thought a member of the list might be interested. Thomas Edward Digby, born in Port Fairy, would probably be pretty keen to find out this exists. Is anyone else on this list researching the family of Joseph McEachern (1821-1893) & his wife Elizabeth Hill (c1828-1901). He was born in Argyllshire Scotland and she was born in Wolverhampton England. Their mothers were possibly sisters with the surname Ormirod. Joseph & Elizabeth married in Gloucestershire England 1852 and migrated with two children born there. Five more children were born to them after arrival in Victoria. Many thanks, Barbara Corrigan (Canberra ACT, Australia).

However we return to Australia next Friday and once I get home I will send you what little info I have on the Youngs. Not easy to get info about them as families seemed to spread out once they came to Australia. Esther Scholes (Young ) was my G Grandfathers sister but we know virtually nothing about her. My email is bpscholes@yahoo.com.au Send me a msg in a few days to that address to jolt my memory so I can do it once I get home. For many years I have been trying to find out about his daughter, Fanny Elizabeth (born 1866 in Australia), who married my great-uncle, William Young, in London in 1915. Her marriage certificate states that her father was David Borrie Young (teacher, deceased) and I have found that her mother was Esther Alice Scholes. There is a possibility that Fanny was a distant cousin of William YOUNG (born 1869, Dundee, Scotland), and I would very much like to establish whether or not this is true. I should be so grateful if you were able to let me have any information you may have about Fanny Elizabeth (or Margaret) and David Borrie YOUNG. I'd really love to discover more about Fanny and her origins. Very much hoping to hear from anyone who can help.
