Author: bgk01 Surnames: Krueger Kruger Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.oceania.australia.vic.general/11037/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for a Christoph Wilhelm Krüger (born 1841 in Posen, Prussia). His parents emigrated to South Australia and he was last heard of in 1855 in Blumberg (Birdwood). There is no records of his death or marriage in SA, as a godparent or member of the wedding parties for his siblings. Perhaps he was lured to the Goldfields - as many others from SA were. Where do I start to unravel this hypothesis - are there any Victorian records for a William/Wilhelm/Bill Krueger/Kruger? (He was known by his middle name). I'm looking for a few starting points. Any ideas? Barry Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There still is a scrap of paper in my Grandmother's things that indicates she wrote letters to someone in care of Post Office in Victoria (?) Australia. There is a DNA male ancestor (Ferguson DNA project) of William Ferguson of Dumfries (christening) Preston, Manchester, London, Manchester. His occupation was an accountant, but he was also listed as blacksmith, and gold smith. My family's oral history includes that he was a baker on Edgeware Road in London (Today I believe he was the accountant for a bakery on Edgeware Road, London.) He married twice and had two families. I descend from the first family. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. James William LUXON was born in Topsham, DEV. My wife was born in Topsham, and is related. I have an extensive database of LUX(T)ONs from Topsham. James married Sarah MILES (b. Can someone please lookup the birth of Albert James DEED b.c1912 Father Albert George Helen
Looking for information on Gordon Chapman and wife Ellen who were living at Surrey Hills in 1964. I am researching the Dolbeys in Lilydale Tasmania and their names appear in a death notice for the mother of Ellen (Sarah) for that year but I have been unable to find any events for Ellen in Tasmania, not even a birth. I have other children for Sarah beginning in 1896 through to early 1900’s all in Tasmania but not an Ellen anywhere. Taking a wild guess that Ellen may in fact ne an illegitimate granddaughter raised by Grandmother Sarah as her own but to follow this line I am searching for any events for Ellen but being in Tas I dont have much access to Victorian records. All the children of Sarah appear in birth order in the death notice which would put Ellens birth after 1903. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
