What an absolute shame that no details have been recorded- all this hope and expectation too! Argh. maybe they both had backgrounds they didn't want to show. Certainly Sarah had a case to answer! the death cert may not shed any more light either - I have been wondering if Joseph's daughter Charlotte may have left her husband and gone to live with Dad - if so, she may be the informant for his death and may have gleaned some family info to put on a death cert...but it requires money again to buy a cert, so I guess it depends how far you want to go I have had a quick look for Charlotte STOREY hoping there is a link to the name Charlotte...seems she may have married John COOK 1863 in Victoria. It might be interesting to see who the witnesses were she is not the girl who died in Vic 1880 ...and sure enough there she is in the papers - so she must have been a friend of Sarah's! Were his brothers (who were naturalised) older or younger? Wilhelm might have been covered by his mothers naturalisation...((although he may have just not bothered,,,unless he wanted to own land or vote)) I'll have to go back and read what has been posted already. His father was Christoph Krüger. His mother was Anna Christine Krüger (nee Sievert/Siewert). Wilhelm's father died shortly after arrival in 1850 and was not naturalised. His widowed mother was naturalised in colony of SA in 1854. No evidence that Wilhelm was naturalised in SA and no evidence that he was naturalised in the Commonwealth of Australia. Both his brothers were naturalised. Perhaps he was naturalised in another of the colonies, or perhaps he was not naturalised at all. The National Archives has naturalisation of a WC Kruger recorded but this is not him. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There were other Lynettte Anne females in Victoria from 1972 that could just as easily be yours. Also, it is important to respect the privacy of the living. Public records are available, for example, you could check the most recent Electoral Rolls, and White Pages ( only 3 Cortina names listed) but after that you need to tread very carefully Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Dorothy is still listed as HEYWOOD until 1963, then changes to RODGERS. You won't find a marriage on the indexes after 1942.. Maybe Bernard is a son of John James? Just because they live at the same address doesn't mean they are married.. Maybe the info on the death cert is incorrect.. Have you found BDM info for John James and/or Bernard?
