Hi, I am trying to help my sister find her father. His name is Carl (or Karl) TURNER. He would have been born around the 1940's.... He was an orphan but lived in Boronia with his grandmother. We dont know if this was his adopted grandmother or not...anyway Cheryl Bull had a daughter, Gayle Maree to Carl on 16 Feb 1967 at ferntree Gully hospital. Carl Turner lived in Boronia in 1966-67. Bill Thomas WATTERS died 25 Feb 1917 at his brother James residence in Clifton Hill- his will says that he was a farmer at Melton. Esther Susan died 17 July 1947 . They are both buried at Coburg Cemetery. She was a barmaid employed by the builder/first owner Andrew Anderson who was a widow with young daughters. She sued him for breach of promise and the only thing I have is the newspaper reports - quite sordid for the times. Don't know what happened to her. Can't find a marriage or death. She was from Victoria. Perhaps the ghost was his second wife (both died young), who never lived there but who died just a couple of years before Maude came on the scene and wandered the halls looking for her husband??? Now I know the ghost story is true (I just thought it was drummed up after someone found the newspaper article) but didn't see/hear anything when I stayed overnight a few years ago.
