I have been researching the Hurleys in New Zealand and have found that Ellen Johnson from Beechworth visited Hurleyville (near Patea) with her mothe Joanna and married Patrick Hurley at the age of 16. He was a teacher, dairy farmer hotel keeper and postoffice manager in Hurleyville. He also set up the school. They went to Wester Australia in 1905 and went farming in the Williams area and then ran the Busselton Hotel. he died in 1907. Ellen took over the hotel and also ran a hotel near Harvey. She died in 1934. Her sister Fanny married Patrick's brother Tim. They went farming. Fanny died in 1932. I do not know anything of Ellen & Fanny's siblings.
